Martin D-18VM Custom Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Vintage Natural w/ Case

This 1997 Martin D-18VM Custom Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar has been well played over the years and for good reason. It is a cannon! These first generation D-18 Vintage Series instruments are known for being light, responsive, projective, and for having the general feel and tonal structure of a pre-war D-18 and this one checks all of those boxes. It shows some wear and tear from years of good playing but has been serviced routinely, repaired well and and ready to be played for the next 50 years. Some of those repairs include a nice center seam crack on the top that has been filled and cleated as well as several areas of the binding that have been re-glued. The back shows a filled and cleated crack on the bass side as well as a fine surface crack running from the bottom of the body headed upwards. This one has not been filled or cleated so would likely benefit from some glue-fill in the future.

This guitar plays and sounds fantastic! The neck is straight and the action is low and comfortable. The guitar chords clearly and easily all the way up the neck. This guitar has likely been professionally refretted in the past as the frets show hardly any wear despite the other wear noticeable on the body. The fretboard itself is in fantastic condition and shows no divots or heavy wear.

This guitar will come complete with the original Martin Ply Hardshell Case. The case shows some exterior wear in the tolex and 2 of the 5 latches are broken. The remaining 3 work just fine and allow the case to be closed and secured tightly.
